How to get to Aeroe City hall?

The Aeroe City Hall´s location is in the town of Æreskøbing. If you take the plane from your home country, Copenhagen, Billund, and Hamburg are the nearest airports.

The story behind

The “new” Town Hall in Ærøskøbing was designed by Architect Havsteen-Mikkelsen and was inaugurated in 1974.

It replaced the old town hall on the square.
The old had become too small for the growing municipal tasks and the increasing number of employees.

The flagpole at the city hall was a gift from the staff at the time.

The queen’s monogram in gold, which adorns the high gable facing Vestre Allé, is a gift from the savings bank.
At the inauguration, the savings bank donated the clock on the town hall roof that can be seen both from the outside and inside the town hall.

What days can we get married at Aeroe City Hall??

You can get married on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and the first Saturday of the month.

Can we book a date at Aeroe City Hall as soon as The Danish Family Court has approved my wedding in Denmark?

When The Danish Family Court sends us an e-mail that your application for marriage is approved, we will immediately book a date and time for your wedding day at Aeroe City Hall.

Can we bring our witnesses to the wedding ceremony?

Yes, you can bring two witnesses. You must let us know if you have any witnesses so we can inform Aeroe City Hall about this as this is the procedure.

If you do not have the opportunity to take witnesses, then Aeroe City Hall will provide witnesses.

What days should we present the documents?

You must attend the Aeroe City Hall one day before your wedding day. The Wedding Office is open from Monday to Friday and follows your documents between 9 am to 12 pm.

You must bring all the original documents you have sent to Wedding Planner Denmark and present them to the staff at the Wedding Office.
