Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the Full Service?
Our Full Service package includes everything you need to get married in Denmark without stress. We prepare your personal document checklist, review all paperwork, handle your application to Familieretshuset, manage communication with Danish authorities, and guide you after approval. The official application fee is also included.
How long does it take to get married?
The timeline depends on several factors. If your application is approved quickly and you are flexible with different town hall options, the wedding can often happen faster. If Familieretshuset requests more information, or if the application is not approved at first, the process can take longer.
Your preferred town hall also matters. Some town halls have longer waiting times, especially during popular dates and seasons. With our Full Service package, we make sure your documents are carefully prepared from the beginning to reduce the risk of delays.
What documents are required to get married in Denmark?
The required documents depend on your nationality and personal situation. Typically, you will need a valid passport or ID, and in some cases a residence permit or divorce decree. With our Get married in Denmark packages, you receive a customized checklist so you only collect the documents that apply to your case.
What is the ceremony like?
The wedding ceremony in Denmark is usually short, simple, and sweet. In most town halls, the ceremony takes around 5–10 minutes and can often be held in English or German, depending on the specific town hall and your preferences.
Many couples are surprised by how quick the ceremony is, but it is still a meaningful and legally binding moment. You can also exchange rings and personal vows if you wish.
